Life without limits, a statement that is already deemed impropable by most individuals but what about a person with no limbs? Isn’t that not even thinkable?

My niece had her birthday celebration last weekend in a Karaoke, just like what my daughter did last October.

Initially, the kids were a bit shy to be up on stage singing and after some time and encouragement to get them singing, they went up on stage singing some Chinese New Year songs as it will be the Lunar New Year of the Ox in a few days’ time.

There is definitely truth to the statement of Newton’s Law, when a body is in motion, it will continue to be in motion unless stopped by an outside force.

Why do I say that? Because when the kids started singing, they couldn’t stop.

We have a regular meet up every 2 weeks within the group that we called Guerrilla Business Network where a group of like minded individuals entrepreneurs get together to brainstorm and assist on helping one another business to get better.

We had a meet up on 6th January and this was the first time we had something like a book club where we were supposed to read a chapter of a book and get together to discuss what had the most impact from the chapter we had read.

The book we covered was Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill, a classic that has sold tens of millions of copies worldwide and benefited numerous people like one of the Internet marketing gurus, Alex Mandossian, who claimed that he has read the book for more than 15 times.

Coincidentally, the chapter we were discussing yesterday was the Power Of The Mastermind because we felt that since we are going to form a mastermind group, would be great if we can start with this chapter.

The part that I had the deepest connection and shared on that day was from this paragraph:

“The positive emotions of thought form the side of the stream which carries one to fortune.  The negative emotions form the side which carries one down to poverty.”

Why was this paragraph stood out among the rest?

It was because I was totally distracted and very negative about what is going to happen for the rest of the years during the month of December 2008, where we were constantly bombarded with negative news about the world economy and it doesn’t help when friends commented of the job security.

As you know, I am currently still holding a full time job and needless to say, I am concerned too and with all the negativity that was surrounding me, I too became negative.

Thankfully, I was able to wake up from my negative thoughts and starting taking different action that would propel me to the positive attitude I always had.

In an event of synchronicity, this chapter of the Power of the Mastermind from Think and Grow Rich shows up at the most appropriate time and I am real glad to be part of this mastermind group and more importantly, I am really starting to believe that there are no coincidences.

While reading “The Passion Test” by Janet Bray Attwood and Chris Attwood, there was a chapter in the book where Janet was interviewing Stephen M. R. Covey, the author of “The Speed of Trust“.

I must admit that after reading a few chapters of The Speed of Trust, I stopped reading it as I felt that it was quite plain and nothing fantastic but after reading the excerpts of it in The Passion Test, I had a realization why people are not joining the network marketing industry.

When I was first recruited into the business and wanted to start inviting my friends and relatives to come and take a look at the business opportunities, I was told not to tell them what was this all about.

“Just tell your friends and relatives that you want them to see and take a look with their own eyes, not yours”!” was what I was told by my uplines while inviting my friends and relatives.

Now when I thought back, I was wondering if there could be a possibility that my friends and relatives has said No to the business opportunity because I betrayed their trust in me?

Or perhaps I have not delved in deep enough to find out what was their take about the industry as a whole before pouring all the information on them?

Most people regardless of where they are right now, knows about MLM or network marketing.  Would it be better to be truthful and honest so that we still have the trust our friends and relatives have in us?

Since 2002, I have already been in this business part time together with my wife and I have to be honest, I am still not progressing as far as I thought I could.  Perhaps, there must be a paradigm shift for me right now to build this business on a different approach.

An approach of honesty, truthfulness and trustworthy to my potential business partners so that I am able to earn their trust in me to have a long term mutual beneficial business partnership.
